Job Information

Installs, maintains, repairs and replaces major parts of engine systems for heavy equipment (trucks, forklifts, cranes). Must have extensive experience with repairing, maintaining, and refurbishing extended reach forklifts and telescoping boom lifts. Must have experience working on JLG, Genie, Caterpillar, and/or Cummins manufactured equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must have strong working knowledge of major equipment on site.
  • Troubleshoots engine performance problems.
  • Provides recommendations for problem resolution.
  • Provides estimates as to the repair, replacement and need for installation according to problem diagnosis and repair/replacement recommendations.
  • Perform routine and annual maintenance of equipment at the facility.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
  • Diagnoses malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Requisitions and keeps supply of spare parts.
  • Adheres by company policies and safety regulations.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department or work crew.
  • Keep maintenance and repair records. Notify Office Manager if damaged for re-billing purposes.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Potential travel to customer site if repair needed.
  • Maintain mileage when traveling for billing purposes.
  • Be available for on-call rotation.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

If performing an assignment on-land, you will be primarily participating in new construction and possibly refurbishing or maintaining existing modular living quarters / office space designed for offshore environments.

Journeyman’s Plumbing License is preferred.  A High School Diploma or equivalent certificate (GED) is required.

You will be expected to assemble, install, and repair pumps, pipes, fittings, and fixtures; cut, thread, and weld pipes; assemble and install valves and pipe fittings; and inspect completed work for conformance with specifications & requirements in both onshore and offshore environments.  Keeping records of assignments, the ability to attend to details & produce consistently accurate work, and interpreting & applying mechanical & structural blueprints to plan plumbing repairs & modifications are also necessary skills to function acceptably in this position.

Summary:  Provides HVAC services with specific responsibility to identify repair and/or replacement needs.  Installs, repairs, maintains and upgrades HVAC systems and equipment.  Performs preventive maintenance and routine service of equipment.

  • Identifies defects, and installs, repairs and maintains heating, ventilating, refrigeration, and air-conditioning units.
  • Operates specialized machinery, equipment and tools utilized in the repair, installation and maintenance of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration systems.
  • Calibrates systems.
  • Inspects HVAC systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance.
  • Installs heating and air-conditioning equipment and systems.
  • Maintains tools and equipment to ensure availability in safe operating condition.
  • Performs routine and preventive maintenance of HVAC systems as needed.
  • Repairs heating and air-conditioning systems and/or components.
  • Requests equipment and supplies to maintain inventory and ensure availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair.
  • Works independently with little direction.
  • Follows oral and written instructions.
  • Meets schedules and time lines.
  • Other duties may be assigned. 

Supervisory Responsibilities 

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or its equivalent (GED); two years’ experience in HVAC maintenance; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Certificates or licenses of field competency are highly desired.
